Joy of Sharing Holiday Programs

Help make the holidays special for those in need

The United Way of West Central Connecticut is inviting you to “LIVE UNITED” this holiday season. This year, we are asking you to “reach out your hand to one and influence the condition of all.” Now more than ever, your friends and neighbors need your help. Your organization or group can help to make the holidays more special for those individuals and families who are struggling this year.

Dates for 2020 events to be determined.  Check back after June 1st

United Way’s Annual Joy of Sharing Program has been providing food, toys, and gifts to needy children, teens, and families in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth for over nine years. Last year alone, over 3,000 toys and gifts were donated, along with hundreds of food baskets. This year, the need is greater than ever and we need your help!  There are four different ways that you can “LIVE UNITED” this holiday season:

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive – You can collect and donate food products that are the most needed during Thanksgiving. Food can be dropped off at the United Way office on specially designated days: 9 AM to 4 PM TBA
  • Holiday Toy and Gift Drive – You can collect and donate toys and gifts for children between the ages of 3 and 14. Donations can be dropped off at the United Way on specially designated days: 9 AM to 4 PM on TBA.
  • Salvation Army Kettle Drive – You can volunteer to work a two-hour shift at the Annual Kettle Drive in front of the Stop & Shop on Pine Street in Forestville on Saturday, TBA

If you are willing to participate in any of these holiday initiatives, please call us at (860) 582-9559 X 402 or e-mail nmicloskey@uwwestcentralct.org.
