United Way Adopt-A-Child Back to School Program

Adopt-A-Child Backpack Program

It’s that time of year again! The United Way of West Central Connecticut is once again collecting backpacks, school supplies, and a first-day-of-school outfit through the Adopt-A-Child Back to School Program for the 2019/20 school year.

United Way believes that the first day of school is an important event in a child’s life that is often overlooked. Through generous donations from our community, we have helped bolster a local child’s self-image, which has been found to have a dramatic effect on performance in the classroom and can lead to lasting changes. We hope that you will be able to make a difference through a donation this year, since the need is greater than ever.

Please call or e-mail Kimberly Mercado-Hernandez or Donna Koser at the United Way (860-582-9559) KHernandez@UWWestCentralCT.org or DKoser@UWWestCentralCT.org to get involved. You will be provided with a Child Information Sheet for each child that you sponsor including the child’s age, favorite color, specific clothing sizes as well as a list of school supplies needed. Thank you again for opening your heart to support the Live United movement by giving, advocating, and volunteering through United Way.

Thank you to everyone in our community that Lives United!
