31 Years of Caring - Annual Day of Caring May 19

Day of Caring began in 1992 as a way to connect employees of local corporations with human service agencies that United Ways support.

Thirty-one years later, this annual event offers hundreds of people, of all ages, the opportunity to volunteer at non-profit agencies in the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth. Last year United Way of West Central Connecticut had over 300 volunteers at thirty locations throughout our four towns. Volunteers mulched and cleaned garden beds, picked up litter, painted porches, organized food pantry shelves, and more!

2-1-1 Is Here For You!

What is 2-1-1? It is a free, confidential information and referral service that connects people to essential health and human services 24 hours a day, seven days a week online and over the phone. This service is available to everyone.

Watch the stories of those who used 2-1-1 to help in their time of need.

United Way of West Central Connecticut wants to increase awareness about 211

United Way of West Central Connecticut wants to increase awareness about the statewide 211 information line that they help support, which can provide a variety of resources to those who need help.

Donna Osuch, president and CPO of United Way of West Central Connecticut, said that Connecticut has had a statewide information line for more than 20 years. In addition to state money, it is supported by each United Way in Connecticut. Leading up to Feb. 11, or 2/11, the United Way is working to increase awareness of the service.
