YOUNG PROFESSIONALS’ 1ST EVENT A SUCCESS
The Young Professionals for United Way’s first event, a Community Tag Sale & Car Wash held this past Saturday, was a huge success! The group raised over $1800 for the United Way of West Central Connecticut, which serves the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth.
Colleen Younghans, Co-Chair of the Young Professionals, said, “It’s really heart-warming to see the turn-out for this great event! We far exceeded our expectations and the group is really excited about the outcome. As with all money that is donated to United Way, it is great to know that the money we raised with this event will go directly back into the community.”
The Young Professionals would like to thank all those generous individuals who participated in this event, either by renting a space, donating items, or buying items at the tag sale and all those people who came to the car wash.
They would also like to thank all those local companies that donated items and made this day possible - Bristol Commons, Carpenter Companies, CARQUEST, City True Value Hardware, Patterson Enterprises, Simoniz, Stop & Shop, and Whole Donut.
The Young Professionals for United Way continue to plan volunteer and fundraising events to help make their community a better place.
